What can I say? I’m a fan. So it’s around five minutes to two in the AM, but I’ve been studying for eleven hours and now I need to relieve myself. If you don’t like it, I’m not forcing you to read. In the same strain, however, please don’t go or I might get lonely. This is how I capture all my prey.

I’m not sure how many you have tried it, but singing out loud is a wonderful feeling. Even if you’re like me and can’t actually sing as defined by social standards and duplicate reality TV shows, it just feels so right.

Woman - now with a built-in kitchen!

At the beginning of the year, my drama class was looking forward to singing Joe Jackson’s ‘Is She Really Going Out With Him’ as an acapella (I hope I said that the right way). In the end it didn’t happen because we just didn’t get enough of a chance to polish it up to the standard we wanted for our performance night (which went splendidly, thanks for asking). When we figured that we couldn’t manage it, we kept trying to think of other musical alternatives, but nothing was the same with a backing track. It just doesn’t produce the same effect. In the end we devised a dance from scratch on the day of the performance. That went well. No really, this stupid sarcasm program is malfunctioning.

On the topic of my drama class, we have a lot of fun together in class and on excursions. We especially love breaking out into song – pop, jazz, boyband, you name it and if we haven’t done it, I’ll make a note for later. One of my favourite experiences would have to be walking through Sydney city in the middle of the day, walking in a line and singing Michael Buble, Maroon 5 and Toploader, (dancing in the moonlight, everybody’s feeling oh-so right!) not caring at all about the judging looks we received while in school uniform. Now that’s the way to REPRESENT!!!

Singing is something I do a lot of at home and I’ve been doing it increasingly so since some time around the middle of last year. I started with Christmas songs and worked my way into other genres. Christmas tunes are just so catchy, it’s such a shame to only listen to them during the season. I have to give my thanks and apologies to my sister who must put up with my noise pollution, which is carried by our house’s thin walls. It helps a lot to remind myself to stay positive because it’s foolish to let something as small as the world to get me down.

Anyway, to finish this, here’s what inspired me to write this post in the first place. They’re just having so much fun, it’s refreshing and exactly what people should get out of singing.
