Your Spigot’s Running Hot July 18, 2010

It’s 5AM. I’ve been awake for… [counts fingers]… [runs out of fingers]… Uh, this isn’t a cold sweat, look away!.. Excuse me while I get a helping hand or two. Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah Oh, so not that long. Only about 19 hours. Where’s the spirit, monkey man!? Can’t even last a day without burning out!

I’m hungry. My stomach is a-rumblin’ and I’m struggling to type coherently. I keep laughing at the slightest things. This font – worth laughing at. The time – it makes me giddy just thinking about it. Facebook – hilarious. What my face must look like right now – absolutely terrifying.

I was going to make some hot chocolate, but it’s too cold to go downstairs where there are tiles. Cold air sinks, you know. Trust the mentally unstable kid, it’ll do you a world of good. Get thee to a nunnery before my dog runs you over in his coffinmobile!!!

I may be a little sleepy, but a part of me is sad that I actually really like the title of this post. It’s completely irrelevant to everything, much like the things I’m saying, but I think if it were a person, I wouldn’t mind taking it out on a date some time. Maybe a pleasant picnic. Some fun, messy cooking in my kitchen. Food fight!!! How nice. It’s cute. It’s happening. At least it would be if I knew what I was talking about. Actually, probably not, yeah.

I’m tired, you need sleep, let’s finish here. I regret any I may have said or done in the past few hours to offend you, your significant other, or the baby in your preset to 180 degrees Celsius oven. Here’s hoping that this doesn’t come back to bite me in my Beyonce’s pride when I wake up!!!

Like Hell ‘Satan’ Isn’t Pronounced ‘Satin’ July 18, 2010

This post has nothing to do with the way one of the devil’s names ought to be pronounced, but yes, I used to think ‘Satan’ sounded the same as ‘satin’, or if I wanted to shake things up a little, ‘Saturn’. However it was only when I read the name, I had heard “Saytan” (more like Saiyan, am I right?) several times.

Cute memories of my childhood foolishness aside, I have a bit of a bone to pick with people who use phrases with the simile “… like hell” or the metaphor “… as hell” oh-so flippantly. Get off your high horses, you gentry knights with your fancy lances. You know I love you, but you really need to change your ways, otherwise we’ll just go into another age of the Crusades. Planet of the Apes > the Crusades (you try beating ape people who look like Michael Jackson.)

Reiteration of Something You Use To Do. July 17, 2010

Yes, I’m writing a post. Yes, I know its been, like, forever. Yes, I know, I’m sorry for being gone for so long. A thousand apologies, our fine, fine readers.

As you know, I’m an avid fan of the sort of entertainment that flows through speakers and into our eardrums. And I know what you’re thinking. “Stop watching porn.”, but I can assure you that’s not the entertainment I am talking about. I’m talking about music, and only recently, have I been so goddamn attached to it again. I don’t mean like, if I don’t listen to it I’ll die. No no no. Nothing of the kind. More the appreciation for one’s blood, sweat and tears meaning a lot to a lot of people.

Youlike?

Gotta love it.

Oral is the Best July 8, 2010

What can I say? I’m a fan. So it’s around five minutes to two in the AM, but I’ve been studying for eleven hours and now I need to relieve myself. If you don’t like it, I’m not forcing you to read. In the same strain, however, please don’t go or I might get lonely. This is how I capture all my prey.

I’m not sure how many you have tried it, but singing out loud is a wonderful feeling. Even if you’re like me and can’t actually sing as defined by social standards and duplicate reality TV shows, it just feels so right.

I Love My Robots Furry July 5, 2010

In Soviet Russia, robots love you furry. Well, it’s not like I have the time to be doing this, I could be better spending it by doing English past papers, but I need some stress relief and I need to make this post because it’s been on my mind for almost a week now.

As most of you by now know, I listen to K-pop (i.e. Korean pop) quite avidly. As a result, I’ve lost a lot of contact with Western music. I have to say that I’ve really missed songs in which I understand the lyrics, even though I usually don’t care for them anyway. I actually used to watch videos of Korean idols performing covers of Western songs to try getting my fix, sadly enough. I’d laugh at all their mispronunciations because the phonetics of the Korean language are different than in English. If you’ve ever watched the Korean History Channel on Youtube, you would. If you haven’t, well today’s your lucky day.

It’s really not that good, pretty lame to tell you the truth, but it is quote-worthy. It’s fine, it gets hyped up by those who watch it, especially the Caucasians. Really, this is just a distraction an introduction.

Last week, feeling down in the dumps about all the K-pop I listen to, I went about finding Western music, or more accurately, non-Korean music. It was a magical experience.

Just a quick post to wish all Americans a very happy July 4th AKA Independence Day! Sure, I totally guessed yesterday when I asked my yankee buddies if it was celebrating that day and hey-ho, what do you know, I was right. Cool runnings.

Despite all the foolish and generally frowned upon antics of America as a whole (trust me, this is what we spend our free time watching), as someone born and raised in Australia, I have to give my thanks to the leading fast-food nation.

Let’s be honest, without the United States of America, Australia would literally be a bigger version of New Zealand, or the hot and dry conception of Britain minus the cute, black boys. Yes, I know that our indigenous peoples are what one would consider ‘black’, but they’re too manly to be considered cute. They wouldn’t have those dumb accents either. (I know that so many people adore the English accent, but hey, someone needs to be a critic, okay?)

The USA is a great source of entertainment for the… rest of the world. You provide us with so many films, even though many are sub par. Your politicians make ours look good better decent bearable. In the same tone, your president (and your first wife for that matter, damn!) has one well-maintained body.

I do have one question, though. I know that the US has rednecks and similarly, we have bogans. However, we also have lads, with the British equivalent being chavs – what do you have America? What do you have?

The Good, the Bad & the OH SNAP – HE’S EVIL!!! July 4, 2010

So we’ve been relatively quiet for quite some time, but I swear, our obvious excuse is a solid one! We’ve been bogged down by our final year in high school. By that, I obviously mean that we’ve been shaking our fists at our Higher School Certificates for a scheduled 20 hours of each day, (we’ve got to sleep, too) which does not leave a terribly large opportunity to write up posts. To be more truthful, school takes a lot of our motivation for blogging away and doesn’t give it back. If we did attempt to write regularly, we’d end up hating on pretty much everything and I frankly think there’s enough of that on the interwebs. Don’t expect more posts to be coming your way more regularly because we’re only getting busier – I just want you kids to know that we’ll be back.

Now enough of these sappy formalities! There is a post to be written and a story to be told!

It seemed appropriate at the time

So yesterday was the last day of the school term and to celebrate one of my last days of partial freedom, I went out with some friends to watch Toy Story 3. Words cannot describe how amazing it is, but hey, I’ll give it a swing.
